Types Of Ball & Roller Combined Slewing Bearing

There are two types of marine ball and roller combined slewing bearings available:

A) Slewing bearing with double row sealing: This type of slewing bearing is equipped with double row sealing, which provides enhanced protection against external contaminants such as dust, moisture, and debris. The double row sealing helps to maintain the integrity of the bearing and ensure smooth operation even in harsh marine environments.

B) Slewing bearing with labyrinth seal: This type of slewing bearing features a labyrinth seal. A labyrinth seal consists of a series of specially designed barriers or channels that create a tortuous path for contaminants to pass through. This arrangement helps to prevent the entry of dust, water, and other particles into the bearing, thereby protecting its internal components and ensuring reliable performance over an extended period.

Both types of slewing bearings are suitable for applications with an eccentric rate (e) of less than 1.2. The eccentric rate refers to the ratio between the eccentricity of the bearing’s raceway and the diameter of the bearing. The specified limit of 1.2 indicates the maximum allowable eccentricity for optimal performance.

Zava Marine has recently opened new molds for European and North American clients, utilizing materials such as metal, ABS, PVC, and more.
