This coated wire rope is designed to withstand harsh marine environments and is classified as marine grade. It is constructed using stainless steel with higher levels of corrosion-resistant elements such as chromium and nickel. This coated of stainless steel wire rope ensures excellent resistance to rust, saltwater, and other corrosive agents, making it suitable for marine, offshore, and industrial applications.

The stainless steel wire rope is available with either a Fiber Core (FC) or an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC). The Fiber Core option provides additional flexibility, while the IWRC wire rope offers increased strength and stability.

IWRC wire rope stands for independent wire rope Core wire rope. It is a type of steel wire rope that features an independent wire rope core within its construction. The 6×36 stainless wire rope commonly utilizes an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) due to its numerous advantages. In this wire rope construction, each strand consists of two layers of wires that are produced in a single operation. The second layer, which is the outer layer, contains wires of two different dimensions. The number of wires in the second layer is twice the number of wires in the first layer.

To illustrate this, let’s take an example of a Warrington strand with 19 wires. It would be characterized as (1-6-6+6), indicating that there is one center wire, six wires in the first layer, and a total of 12 wires of two different dimensions in the second layer. It’s worth noting that the center wire can be replaced by several wires or a fiber core, depending on the specific wire rope construction requirements.

The Warrington construction offers several advantages, including compactness and flexibility. This wire rope construction method allows for a more tightly packed arrangement of wires, resulting in a coated wire rope that is both flexible and durable. The compactness of the construction contributes to the overall flexibility and handling characteristics of the coated wire rope.
