Marine Windlass Hydraulic Control Valves

The marine windlass hydraulic control valve is a core control component of a ship’s anchoring system, responsible for regulating the pressure, flow, and direction of the anchor chain, ensuring smooth and safe operation of the windlass under various sea conditions. These valves typically feature manual, mechanical, or solenoid-driven operation, and some models are equipped with manual proportional flow and directional composite valves, enabling precise flow control and directional switching even under complex operating conditions. Our marine windlass hydraulic valves typically feature the following functions:

  • Pressure Control: A built-in pressure compensation mechanism eliminates the influence of load pressure fluctuations on flow output, ensuring a linear proportional relationship between flow and handle operation angle.
  • Flow Control: Provides both fluid direction switching and stepless flow regulation. The standard nominal pressure can reach 25 MPa, with the safety valve adjustment range covering 5–25 MPa.
  • Directional Control: A three-position four-way structure enables fluid direction switching, controlling the extension or rotation of the windlass hydraulic cylinder.

Types of Marine Windlass and Winch Hydraulic Control Valves

1.Hydraulic Proportional Directional Valve: Precisely controls the speed and direction of the hydraulic motor through electrical signals, enabling the windlass to switch between high-speed anchor chain retrieval and heavy-load anchor lifting, ensuring flexible and safe operation.

2. Balance Valve: Prevents the anchor chain from free-falling and ensures smooth anchoring operations. Typically used in series with the hydraulic motor to achieve controlled lowering of the anchor chain, enhancing operational safety.

3. Relief Valve (Safety Valve): Sets the maximum working pressure of the hydraulic system (e.g., 250 bar). When the system exceeds the set pressure, it automatically releases oil to protect the pump station and pipelines, preventing equipment damage and operational risks.

By properly configuring these valves, a marine windlass hydraulic system can achieve high-precision control, enhanced safety, and reliable performance, suitable for complex sea conditions and high-load operations.
