About product

Marine Weathertight Steel Doors are specialized doors installed at the entrances of superstructures and deckhouses above the freeboard deck on various types of ships. Their primary function is to prevent wind, rain, and seawater spray from entering the compartments, ensuring vessel safety and maintaining a comfortable living and working environment under harsh sea conditions. These doors feature excellent sealing performance and structural strength, meeting the requirements of classification societies and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations.

  • Square-Corner Door (Type F): Standard clear opening size 1600 × 600 mm, door plate thickness 8 mm, with stiffeners 65 × 9 mm.
  • Round-Corner Door (Type Y): Suitable for Class B and above doors, customizable with a φ250 mm round window.

Product Detail

Marine Weathertight Steel Doors

The service grades of our marine weathertight steel doors are generally classified as follows:

  • Grade A: Applied to the forward bulkheads of the first tier of superstructures on the freeboard deck, within the range of 0.1L–0.7L forward of the aft perpendicular (where L is the ship’s length). These doors are required to have high resistance to wave impact to withstand external forces at wave-exposed positions.

  • Grade B: Applied to the forward bulkheads of the second tier of superstructures on the freeboard deck (within 0.1L–0.7L forward of the aft perpendicular), as well as the aft and side bulkheads of the first tier superstructure. These doors must not only meet weathertightness requirements but also provide enhanced durability and convenient access.

  • Grade C: Applied to the forward bulkheads of the third tier of superstructures on the freeboard deck (within 0.2L–0.6L forward of the aft perpendicular), as well as the aft and side bulkheads of the second tier superstructure. This grade is mainly used at middle and upper deck levels, focusing on protection against rain and wave spray.

  • Grade D: Applied to the bulkheads of the fourth and higher tiers of superstructures on the freeboard deck, as well as the aft and side bulkheads of the third tier superstructure. These doors are typically used at higher levels, serving mainly to resist rain and wind while maintaining interior sealing.
