About product
Marine manhole covers are essential sealing devices for ship compartments, primarily used for inspection, maintenance, and ventilation access to various tanks and spaces. Their design must meet watertight, airtight, corrosion-resistant, and quick-opening/closing requirements to ensure the vessel’s safety and reliable operation under complex sea conditions.
- Carbon steel: Cost-effective and high in strength, suitable for general compartments where corrosion protection is not critical. Usually requires additional anti-corrosion treatment such as hot-spray zinc or epoxy coating.
- 304 stainless steel: Offers better corrosion resistance than carbon steel, suitable for fresh water tanks, engine rooms, and accommodation spaces with high humidity but less severe corrosion environments.
- 316 stainless steel: Contains molybdenum, providing excellent resistance to pitting and seawater corrosion. Ideal for ballast tanks, fuel oil tanks, and exposed decks where long-term contact with seawater occurs.
