Marine Mooring Buoy

About product

Zava Marine designs and manufactures marine mooring buoys specifically for offshore vessel and naval mooring during typhoon conditions or in open-sea anchorage scenarios. These mooring buoys are engineered for flexible deployment, reliable performance, and minimal maintenance, making them ideal for ports, temporary berths, and anchorage zones. A variety of sizes and configurations are available to accommodate different vessel tonnages and requirements.

  • Typhoon-Grade Resistance: Engineered to withstand harsh weather and wave loads for secure mooring even during typhoons.
  • Flexible & Efficient: The floating platform allows temporary berthing or emergency mooring setups when dock space is unavailable.
  • Multi-Functional: Suitable for cargo transfer, ship maintenance, bunkering, or offshore standby operations.
  • Low Maintenance: The solid-core, maintenance-free buoy offers over 10 years of service life. Steel buoys can be equipped with corrosion-resistant coatings for extended durability.
  • Customizable Options: Size, buoyancy, color markings, and mooring hardware can be tailored to client specifications.

Marine Moorage Buoy Structure

  1. Buoy Body: The main structure is a sealed, floating hull that provides the primary buoyancy. It is made from high molecular weight, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with a density of approximately 0.95 g/cm³, ensuring excellent impact resistance, UV stability, and corrosion resistance. The interior is filled with high-strength polyurethane foam or closed-cell foam material. This ensures the buoy retains its buoyancy even if the outer shell is partially damaged, offering stable, fail-safe performance.
  2. Mooring Ring: Located at the top of the buoy, the mooring ring connects to ship mooring lines or fittings. Two standard types are available: flat-mounted and insert-mounted designs. The ring bears the full mooring load and is typically made of hot-dip galvanized or stainless steel, providing high tensile strength and corrosion resistance.
  3. Chain System: The mooring chain connects the top ring to the underwater anchor. It transmits the tension from the vessel to the anchoring base. The system includes galvanized chains, swivel shackles, and connector rings, all designed to resist twisting and fatigue in dynamic sea conditions.
  4. Anchoring Unit: The end structure of the system is the ship anchor, which can be made of cast iron, reinforced concrete blocks, or screw anchors, depending on seabed conditions. Anchors provide the holding power required to resist uplift forces and keep the buoy securely positioned, even under wave surge, current, and typhoon conditions.
