These screws come with drill points of varying sizes, allowing them to penetrate different material thicknesses. The drill capacity, which specifies the range of material thickness the screw can effectively drill, varies based on the point length and screw diameter.

 Considerations and Variations of Marine Self Drilling Screw

Marine Self Drilling Screws come in various head styles, such as bugle, flat, hex washer, modified truss, oval, pan, pancake, trim, and wafer. The choice of head style depends on the specific application requirements.

The material composition of these screws is typically heat-treated steel, ensuring strength and durability. Coatings such as zinc plating provide moderate corrosion protection, while black oxide or phosphate coatings offer minimal protection. For specialized applications, there are ACQ-compatible coatings available, and stainless steel self-drilling screws offer superior corrosion resistance.
